  • Authentic Salvadoran pupusas! El Jocoreño is a little piece of Latin America in Los Angeles! Right now basic pupusas are $3.50 which is a great price for a sit down restaurant and the pupusas are amazing. The restaurant is humble but it’s not a hole in the wall. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. People say “Good Afternoon” as they pass bye quite often. Locals come here and they have loyal customers. It’s a little piece of El Salvador! I love the atmosphere and listening to the cumbias in the kitchen! This is my favorite pupusa restaurant and I’ve been to other good sit down pupusa places! I had two pupusas revueltas with beans. They have chicharron and cheese as well. I also had a special Lent pupusa made of rice flour and shrimp. All pupusas here are not greasy, they’re thick and packed with flavor! Very important because many places sell greasy pupusas. I also had a delicious cup of tamarind water! One of my favorite drinks is Salvadoran horchata which is different than Mexican horchata. I like their version better. Try it. It’s amazing! The service here is so good! The lady that attends you is a sweet woman with great manners and very efficient. I believe they are cash only still. Meter parking outside. They have a small lot behind the restaurant!

  • We ordered take out a week ago, the "Plato Tipico" offers a little taste of the most popular Salvadoran dishes, and we loved it. Today we took my parents, born and raised in El Salvador, and mom who is extremely picky completely approved! Yay!

  • Great spot for pupusas. I’ve tried a couple spots in LA but this was the best revueltas I’ve had. I also got the Jamaica drink which was really tasty too. The people who work there are very kind and the restaurant had a very welcoming feel. If you go just remember it’s cash only :). We will definitely be back!

  • Good spot for pupusas. The lady at the register was friendly, and the prices are okay for the size and good flavor the pupusas have. The only negative thing i can say about this place is how long they take to prepare the order. Now I know pupusas take some time to prepare and cook, but I phoned my order ahead. I was told about 20 minutes, well I got there about 30 minutes after I ordered and my order wasn't ready. Still had to wait about 15 minutes, I didn't see any parking available for the establishment, so I parked on the street. Overall, the pupusas were good, so I will be purchasing from them again.

  • It's very hard to find a good salvadorian restaurant now a days, I've been to a few around the area but this one, even though it was my first time, was really good. Had platos típicos that some restaurants don't usually have. I had nuegados and my baby sister had a pupusa (she's picky) she ate the whole pupusa no complaining. Definitely go try it!! The server was also very sweet and helpful!

  • The word “wow” does not even begin to describe how incredibly delicious this restaurant is. This was my first time trying Salvadoran food and it did not disappoint!!! I can’t wait to come back to LA just to eat here again!!! (The leftovers heat up really well too).
